Bilberry is rich in vitamin C. The anthocyanidins are responsible for the major action of Bilberry. Among them, we find a vitamin P action. It is known that vitamin P does not correspond to a chemically defined vitamin, but is a group of properties which support vascular health. This support acts on two levels; it increases the capillary resistance and decreases the capillary permeability. Bilberries are rich in carbohydrates, tannin, and vitamin A and C. Bilberry is an astringent.
